A Mandala is a holographic structure designed to facilitate personal, cultural, and civilizational transformation. A learning organization built as a self-replicating, stable, living system in synchronization with the larger evolutionary dynamics of sacred world. As a balanced geometric structure such as a temple, the human body, a flower, or a path. it is used by the wisdom traditions as a teaching tool to represent the heroic developmental journey starting from the outside and moving step by step through through the layers to the inner sanctum, the core of our heartmind, the inner temple of union. Karuna is a Sanskrit term that means compassion. On the engaged path of the Bodhisattva, it is one of the two qualities to be cultivated along with prajna, or metacognitive wisdom.
